AgVet Chemical Users Course (Level III)
Do your staff need training in safe & effective management of “farm” chemicals?
Previously called the Farm Chemical Users Course, this course is the industry standard for training in chemical use, storage and handling. This Nationally recognised course provides the required training for many Industry Quality Assurance Programs, and is necessary in most states and territories to comply with their legislation.

This course has been developed by AusChem and is the industry recognised standard for chemical use training for agriculture and horticulture.
The course covers the regulations, obligations and safe practices for those involved in the preparation and application of chemicals, as well as the transport and storage of chemicals.
The units of competency include:
AHCCHM303 Prepare and Apply Chemicals
AHCCHM304 Transport, handle and store chemicals
Aims and objectives:
This course aims to provide participants with an up-to-date coverage of the full range of areas, central to safe and effective management of “farm” chemicals and designed to enable participants to put into practice as part of work by monitoring the effectiveness, understanding, compliance and awareness of resources for chemical and risk management safety for their workplace.
It covers pest ID, Modes of Action, label interpretation, issues associated with chemical use, formulation types, weed and pest control application, transport and disposal, preparation and clean up, recording and other procedures.
Who should do this course:
This course would be good for anyone who uses agricultural chemicals in a nursery as well as all weed control contractors, land managers, farmers, local council, agribusinesses, vineyards, environmental volunteers such as friends groups and Landcare.

AgVet Chemical Users Course - REFRESHER COURSE
This short course enables users of AgVet Chemicals to keep up to date with changes in chemical use, new legislation and to have a reminder about safety and best practice. This course is required to retain registration in some industry QA programs, and is best suited to general chemical users.
Entry Requirements:
Participants must hold an AgVET Chemical Users Licence or equivalent, less than 10 years old.
