The Countdown to the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show is Now On!

The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show (MIFGS) returns to celebrate the vibrant world of horticulture this year. For 2024's event, NGIV will unveil several exciting activations highlighting the diverse landscape of our dynamic industry.

NGIV, alongside its partners, will present the Challenger Achievable Gardens, the Green Room, and the Grow Together Garden, offering attendees immersive experiences that showcase the innovation and collaboration of the horticultural community.

The Challenger Achievable Gardens

Once again, Nursery and Garden Industry Victoria (NGIV) are thrilled to present the Achievable Gardens Competition, now in its 17th year, at the 2024 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.

We are pleased to announce that we have a total of nine spectacular gardens at this year’s Show, designed and constructed by students from Holmesglen Institute, Open Colleges, London College of Garden Design, Melbourne Polytechnic and Advance Community College.

This year's Achievable Gardens are brought to you by Challenger. Challenger Limited (Challenger) is an investment management firm focused on providing members with financial security for a better retirement.

The Green Room

The Green Room is a new iteration of the NGIV marquee, being introduced for the first time in 2024. It has the goal of bringing together all touchpoints across our robust greenlife industry – from florists and designers to NGIV members and media professionals, as well as state and local decision makers.

With NGIV staff on hand to welcome visitors and potential collaborations with show garden designers, the Green Room facilitates communication, networking, and collaboration within the horticultural community, ultimately working towards a unified voice for the industry.

The Green Room also functions as a tranquil retreat amid the show's activity for NGIV members, providing comfortable seating, greenery, and refreshments.

Victorian Schools Garden Program's Grow Together Garden – Explore, Learn, Grow

Presented by the Victorian Schools Garden Program, Foodcube and the Sustainable Landscape Design Co., the Grow Together Garden will bring together beautiful edible garden displays, celebrating the diversity our city. The space features Cambodian and Indian themed garden, thanks to the Cambodian Association of Victoria and the Federation of Indian Associations Victoria.

There will be garden-based educational activities throughout the space, including potting activities, interactive demonstrations, the Sustainable Scarecrows display and much more. Foodcube, Wheen Bee and Urban Plant Health Network join us in the space, all with child-friendly activities encouraging kids to explore, learn and grow their passion for gardening, nature and plants.

We can't wait to show our members how these activations come together.

See you at the Show!
