Lockdown lifted across Victoria

Following a reduction in community transmission of coronavirus in Victoria, Victoria’s Chief Health Officer has advised that the lockdown will be lifted state-wide from 11.59pm 27 July 2021. 

Here's what it means for our members:

Stay at home requirement:
• No stay at home requirement. • Removal of 5km travel limit

All retail:
• Open. Density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm applies. Check-in required. A venue smaller than 100sqm can have up to 25 people per venue before density quotient applies.
Every Victorian business must use the Victorian Government QR Code Service to check-in their workers, customers and visitors, with some limited exemptions.
A COVID Check-in Marshal is an employee responsible for ensuring each person who enters a venue uses the Service Victoria QR code to check in on arrival. Assigning a COVID Check-in Marshal allows retailers to access a higher density quotient of one person per two square metres, allowing more people inside the venue at any one time.

Cafes:
• Cafes reopen with a maximum of 100 patrons inside and 300 outside, but they must follow a one person per 4 square metre limit.

Intrastate travel limit:
• Movement between metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria is unrestricted.

Face coverings:
• Must be carried at all times. • Must be worn indoors and outdoors except if at home or if an exception applies

Work:
• If you can work from home, you should work from home. Office work – 25 per cent return or up to 10 people if total workplace is 40 or less, density quotient of 1 person per 4 sqm applies.
