Whether your school is a concrete jungle with only a dream of a garden, or it has an established garden program, this workshop will have something for everyone. Weaving a web of school gardeners will be hosted by VSGP host James McLennan from Grassroots Sustainability.
Teachers, parents, grounds staff, admin, school leadership are welcome to attend.
About the School
Victorian College for the Deaf is an F-12 college that provides bilingual education to Deaf students from across Melbourne and Victoria. Urban Block is a newly established garden enterprise and VET horticultural learning space.
The produce from the garden is harvested and sold directly to the college's onsite cafe and hospitality learning space, The Tradeblock Cafe.

The Presenters
Billie Radomiljac is a VCAL teacher for Victorian College of the Deaf's senior student group and Lead of the Urban Block Garden Enterprise, a VET horticultural learning space.
Karen Sutherland is a wealth of knowledge with over 30 years of experience in edible gardening. She is the founder of Edible Eden Design, focusing on designing beautiful sustainable gardens, from edible landscaping to indigenous and native gardens.
James McLennan
has a background in permaculture, outdoor and environmental education and teaching and runs his own regenerative education company, Grassroots Sustainability. He is also the co-founder and director of non-for-profit Farm My School, working to transform unused land within schools, into regenerative market gardens and providing food to the local community.
