The Importance of 'Green Connections'

The Importance of 'Green Connections'
A special workshop held at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show where teachers/parents will develop an understanding of the valuable educational, health and well-being benefits from 'Green Connections'.

Join us the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show for a special workshop featuring:

-
Last year’s Kevin Heinze Perpetual Award winners, Berwick Lodge Primary School sharing their garden program journey.

-
Richard Bellemo from RB Landscapes leading a tour of his 'Green Connections' playscape at the show, explaining the interactive stimulating and multisensorial areas to play, connect with plants and learn from the natural environment.

-
Key note presenter: Ellen Regos, Team Leader for the School Food Gardens Program at Cultivating Community on ‘Making the most of your outdoor classroom’.

Many schools do not capitalise on the opportunities a school garden provides for students to learn outdoors and connect to nature. This workshop will provide teaching staff, parents and volunteers, with concrete ways to utilise the green space in your school.

This is a practical, hands on workshop that will provide you with new ideas that get you inspired to get children learning outdoors every day. Learn how to foster and encourage children’s curiosity, imagination and deeper learning.
