February's Tree and Shrub Grower’s meeting presents a great opportunity for a get together at The Shrub Hub. The Shrub Hub is a lush green plant lovers haven and home to the team at Philip Withers Landscape Design. It’s a place to be inspired and learn about plant life and celebrate with the broader community.


Come join the Tree & Shrub Growers of Victoria as we head to The Shrub Hub to celebrate our love plants.

We will be joined by Phil Withers, Andrew Laidlaw and Steven Wells.

Phil Withers

Phil has grown to become a new breed of landscape designer who has the benefit of youthful creative dare, exuberance and contemporary sensibility, balanced with years of experience in the industry and a diverse work history. Phil has designed multiple award winning show gardens both in Melbourne and Sydney and has grown a portfolio of professional work along Australia’s east coast. Phil is very versatile and playful in his design. His trademark is to paint contemporary colour and form into his works with both architectural elements and a strong focus on divine and sensory plant selection.

Andrew Laidlaw

Andrew Laidlaw is one of Australia’s leading landscape architects and designers.  With over 30 years of experience in the industry, award winning designs and high profile projects, Andrew is well known for his in depth knowledge of plants, his mastery of design, and his unique, innovative approach. 

Steven Wells

Steven Wells is a nurse and horticulturist with 25 years of experience within healthcare. He has successfully combined these careers within Austin Health and works as a rehabilitation nurse, a horticultural therapist and the Gardens and Grounds Project Officer. Steven has developed the successful horticultural therapy program and healing gardens at the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre and has expanded on this to be developing gardens across the Austin Health network and also coordinated the horticultural therapy program at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre in 2017. Steven is passionate about connecting people with plants for improved health and well-being.
