Are you working with a potential award-winning colleague or
employee?
The annual NGIV industry awards are a wonderful opportunity
to celebrate the achievements of those working in the industry.The winners of our two awards – Tree and Shrub Growers of
Victoria Scholarship and the NextGen Victoria Trainee/Apprentice of the Year –
are determined from applications submitted to NGIV. Those eligible to apply
include students, registered training organisation and employers.
So we ask all relevant members to apply for these
significant awards – or encourage a colleague to do so.
Tree and Shrub
Growers of Victoria Scholarship
The Tree and Shrub Growers of Victoria Scholarship is
proudly sponsored Tree and Shrub Growers of Victoria and is open to a student
of any age studying an apprenticeship or training course within the
horticulture sector.
The scholarship, provides the recipient with up to $2,000 of
value to use on any NGIV managed training and/or event.
These may include:
Attendance at monthly Tree and Shrub Grower
meetings & NextGen meetings
Attendance on the Tree & Shrub Growers Interstate
Tour
Attendance at national or state conferences
Attendance at NGIV training courses of choice
Work experience at the Melbourne International
Flower and Garden Show
To be eligible, applicants must be a permanent resident of
Australia, an NGIV member or employee of an NGIV member and a Tree and Shrub
Growers or NextGen Member, and studying an apprenticeship or training course
within the horticulture sector.
NextGen Victoria
Trainee / Apprentice of the Year Award
The NextGen Victoria Trainee/Apprentice of the Year Award is
open to a student of any age undertaking a traineeship or apprenticeship
between October 1, 2017 and December 30, 2018 in a vocational education and
training course that leads to a nationally recognised qualification relevant to
the Victorian Apprentice of the Year.
This scholarship provides:
A $500 horticulture gift voucher
Free attendance to all NextGen meetings and
events for one year
Access to Nursery and Garden Industry of
Victoria Trade Day for one year
One year’s subscription to Groundswell magazine
Eligible applicants must be permanent residents of Australia
residing in Victoria, NGIV members or staff of an NGIV member and have a
contract of training registered with Department of Education and Training (DEECD)
Higher Education.
