In its 30th year, the monthly trade day at Caribbean Gardens is one of the Nursery & Garden Industry Victoria most well known initiatives among the Victorian retailers and growers. Every month hundreds of people from the industry meet here to view the latest plants and sell or purchase new stock.
The market is the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and is strictly for people who onsell. Private buyers do not have access to the markets and to gain entrance, buyers must present proof that they do in fact represent an industry relevant business.
Members of NGIV have free access to the trade days, while non-members must pay a $70.00 yearly fee to visit the market. The $70.00 (incl. GST) entitles you to attend all trade days and also includes a free copy every month of the NGIV magazine Groundswell.
If you are not an NGIV member, but wish to partake in the Trade Day as a buyer or visitor:
Buyers can download an application form here.
Standholders can download their application form here.
Trade Day Rules for Buyers and Visitors can be viewed here.
The trade days are normally held on the first Tuesday of each month. In November when the nation stops for the races, we bring the market forward a week. We sometimes move the market to ensure it coincides with other important industry events. Buyers can enter the market from 7am. To view the trade day dates for the next 12 months, please go to the Calendar.
