The nursery industry is based on plants. Many of these are grown in potting mix or other organic materials. Every now and then Legionella is contracted by a member of the public which results in adverse and sometimes exaggerated publicity. Whilst there is little history of industry people contracting Legionella from potting mix it is still relevant to consider risk minimisation strategies. As a responsible industry and as responsible employers there is a need for information about Legionella to be supplied to your staff.
