The Nursery & Garden Industry is involved with industry and community education in relation to invasive plants. The ‘Grow Me Instead’ program is a joint industry and government funded program aimed at community education about invasive plants. The program aims to:

•        Produce a GMI Booklet for each state

•        Establish and run GMI Educational program and workshops

•         for industry

•        Produce and distribute Consumer educational material

•        Increase Industry awareness of invasive plants

•        Have less weedy plants grown and sold in industry

•        Increase community awareness of invasive plants

•        Have less weedy plants sold to consumers

•        Have less weedy plants in the environment
