Government lobbying and submissions
NGIV is the voice of its members in Victoria on important policy and legislative issues. It actively works with government, the Water Industry, Flowers Victoria and associated industry businesses. NGIV has been successful in obtaining business sponsorship of strategic projects and funding for member training in business development, communications and marketing.
Networking and Communications
NGIV provides the platform for information exchange. Regular trade markets, Tree & Shrub Group meetings and in-house or onsite meetings allow members to benefit from the support of our Industry Development Officers and other NGIV staff.
The Groundswell magazine is NGIV’s communication piece to the industry and its monthly mailings ensure members are kept up-to-date on industry news and issues as well as providing them with crucial information and advice to help members improve and develop their businesses.
Victorian Promotions
NGIV works with the trade and consumer media to help raise the profile of the industry overall, generate sales and develop interest in gardening. NGIV and Victorian Farmers Federation (Flowers Victoria) present the largest horticultural and flower show in the Southern Hemisphere, the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show.
