NextGen is an NGIV initiative designed to help future leaders of the industry to network and develop their careers. Since its launch in 2006, NextGen has received strong support and currently has over 900 members.
The Victorian nursery and garden industry is full of young, enthusiastic people, who are shaping the industry of the future. NGIV's NextGen is a forum for people under 35 years of age to meet, exchange ideas and hone their leadership skills.
NextGen provides a unique opportunity for young horticulturalists to form networks and develop their careers, learn more about the industry, and have fun.
NextGen Objectives:

to work towards a unified industry where retailers, wholesalers and allied traders understand each others needs and work together

to promote exciting careers and career paths within the industry

to ensure the Victorian horticultural industry maintains its reputation as a world leader with innovative and knowledgeable young staff members and business leaders

to ensure young people in the industry have a voice

to acknowledge excellence and initiative in the industry.
NextGen supports its members by:

holding quarterly NextGen member meetings, which provide valuable networking opportunities and feature inspirational industry speakers

providing opportunities to participate in business workshops, motivational sessions and nursery tours

working closely with other state, national and international horticulture organisations to provide exchange opportunities

communicating relevant information via e-newsletters
-
giving members the opportunity to share ideas and suggestions with the industry's key players
-
supporting members to apply for industry positions, such as the NGIV board and NGIV committees.
Membership is FREE and available to those under 35 who are working in the horticulture industry.
